Ontec SSI is a manufacturers' representative organization in the electronics industry that provides technical sales, marketing, applications engineering, and service support to customers and distributors.

We have been serving the Upstate New York market since 1975. In those 25 years, we have broadened the company to succeed in the rapidly changing market and industry. Since 1991, we have tripled our sales and grown the company. Today we are one of the premier manufacturers' representatives in Upstate New York representing some of the world's largest and most prestigious companies.

In 2002, we formed an alliance with Strategic Sales Inc. (SSI) of New Jersey to become Ontec SSI.

Strategic Sales Inc. (SSI) was founded in 1988 by Peter Dignazio as a manufacturer's representative covering metro New York, New Jersey, and Eastern Pennsylvania geography. In August of 1996, Peter Dignazio sold a controlling interest in the company to Joe Florio.

Joe Florio was the president and founder of Vantage Electronic Components, a leading regional distributor of electronic components in the eastern United States. Mr. Florio sold Vantage to Bell Microproducts and left the company in 1996.

After leaving Vantage, Joe Florio decided to enter the manufacturer's representative business with the intent of building the premier manufacturer sales representative company. That process began with the purchase of SSI.

In January of 1997, SSI purchased Robert Electronic Sales (RES), a manufacturer sales representative for Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, the District of Columbia and eastern West Virginia. RES was formed in 1978 by Dave Roop and Neil Obert to cover the Mid Atlantic geography. Since its inception, RES has been a successful and profitable company as well as a leader within the Mid-Atlantic market.

In November of 1997, SSI formed an alliance with The Novus Group to form NovusSSI for the southeastern states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee. The Novus Group was started in 1983 by Peter Lami our of Huntsville, Alabama. It has also been a successful company and leader in the southeast geography since its inception.

In May of 2002, SSI formed an alliance with Ontec Electronics Marketing to form Ontec SSI serving Upstate New York. Ontec was formed in 1975, and is owned by Joe Bellanca and Carl Bellanca, Jr. out of Rochester, New York. The company has been recognized as one of the premiere sales representative companies in Upstate New York.

SSI is a company made up of four distinct organizations. Each operates as its own profit and loss center. Each has responsibility to recruit, develop retain the best sales and engineering talent in their geography. SSI operates as one entity in business methodology, sales tools and overhead. This approach enables SSI to maintain the aggressiveness of a small company coupled with the operating resource advantages of a larger company. It enables our principals to do business with one entity for a large geography from Upstate New York through Alabama.
